How to use ClipMate

Find something useful, use it right away, and save the Boards you want to keep.

From a useful find to an everyday favorite.

Start with the first four. Keep or gift a Board whenever it fits.

  1. Explore Boards

    Find a Board for the moment. Browse the Library or search for a situation, message, or task.

    Boards can contain reusable text or images.

  2. Preview

    Look inside. Try something. Open Preview Board to see the items. You can browse and copy before signing in.

  3. Copy

    One click. Ready to paste. Tap or click the whole item—not just the copy icon. Try the example below.

    Copied text is yours to paste—not sent automatically.

  4. Paste or share

    Put it where you need it. Paste text into your chat, email, or notes. Image actions depend on your browser.

    For images, look for Copy · Share.

  5. Save to My Boards

    Keep the useful ones close. Choose Save to my Boards. Continue with Google when asked, then keep using the Board.

    Sign-in is for keeping Boards—not browsing.

  6. Gift a Board

    Pass something useful along. Choose Gift this Board, create a link, and send it. Free Library Boards can be gifts, too.

    Recipients preview first, then sign in to keep it.

  7. Use it again

    Your favorites. Ready next time. Open My Boards to reuse what you have kept. Your own copy stays separate from the original.

  8. Make it yours

    Make room for your everyday. Keep related items together, and edit your saved text so it sounds like you.

What happens when I use an image?

Choose Copy · Share. Depending on your browser, ClipMate can copy the image, open sharing, or offer a save action. If unavailable, save the image and attach it yourself.

When do I need to sign in?

Preview and copy public Library items without signing in. Use Google when you save a Board, create a gift link, or keep a gift.

How do public and private gifts differ?

A Library gift shares a public Board. An eligible My Boards gift sends an independent copy of only the selected server-stored Board.
